Treefort ID Verifications

Frauds and scams are rampant. Losses are mounting. While we cannot shut down the fraudsters we can do our bit to make sure our clients are protected and losses are prevented. One of the biggest things we can do is ensure that we are only dealing with real and legitimate clients.

Treefort ID Verification

In our efforts to prevent fraud from occurring we have implemented use of a digital ID verification program called Treefort.  This form of ID verification was made mandatory by the Alberta Law Society whenever we deal with client who cannot attend our office.  We have expanded to use of Treefort for all real estate transactions as they are most at risk for fraud.

What Is Treefort ID Verification?

Treefort is a digital identity verification system designed to authenticate individuals securely and efficiently online. It enables us to verify user identities using government-issued photo IDs, biometric data, and cross-referenced database checks.

With Treefort, users can complete verification from anywhere, typically in under five minutes. The platform leverages AI and facial recognition technologies to ensure that the person submitting the ID is the actual owner, helping to mitigate fraud and identity theft.

All you need is a smartphone with a camera.  We will ask the program issue the link via text to your phone.  All you have to do is click on the link and follow the instructions.

How It Works

Treefort’s ID verification process is straightforward:

  1. Document Submission: The user uploads a photo of a valid government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license or passport).
  2. Liveness Check: The user takes a short selfie video to confirm their presence and match it to the ID.
  3. Database Cross-Check: Treefort cross-references the ID data with secure databases to ensure validity and detect potential fraud indicators.
  4. Real-Time Results: The results are delivered in real time, and a digital identity profile is created.

As the world moves forward with greater technology the methods fraudsters have available to them become more sophisticated. It is increasingly difficult to spot fakes.  We and the legal profession must continue to take steps to counter fraud for our client’s protection. We predict that all law firms will eventually be required to adopt these types of ID verification for all clients. Galbraith Law is making it happen now.
